In contrast, the U.S. construction ecosystem is fiercely relationship-driven and deeply decentralized. Contractors rely more heavily on experience, gut feel, and long-standing bid networks—especially in the private sector. Innovation often happens bottom-up, pushed by tech-savvy estimators or forward-thinking GCs rather than policy mandates.

Yet when innovation does catch fire in the U.S., it scales fast. Think of how Procore, PlanGrid, and others found traction once they cracked the user experience and solved a workflow pain point.

Where the U.S. shines:

• Faster scaling of new platforms once traction is proven
• Large, risk-tolerant private contractors willing to invest in productivity gains
• A culture of tech adoption when ROI is clear and immediate
